Hyperspectral Imaging (HSI) is a remote sensing technology that divides the ultraviolet, visible and infrared spectra into discrete and narrow spectral bands. Sky Research uses a HyMap airborne hyperspectral sensor which records an image by using a rotating scan mirror which allows line-by-line data collection.
HSI data can be used to create fine spectral resolution images to discriminate, classify, identify and quantify items of interest.
