About Remote Sensing

By utilizing remote sensing (sensors that are not in physical contact with the target, often on aircraft or satellites) technologies and methodologies Sky Research is able to better define areas of Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) contamination.  Often a combination of sensors provides the most complete information in support of environmental remediation and planning. 

To create the best information possible Sky Research utilizes the following airborne sensors:

• LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging)
• Orthophotography
• Synthetic aperture radar (SAR)
• Hyperspectral imaging (HSI)
